Deep Induction Conductivity (Raw)

The raw deep-induction conductivity before calibration to CILD — the unprocessed conductivity signal from the deep induction array. Conductivity is the reciprocal of resistivity, so high values mean conductive, often water-bearing, rock.

What is the RILD curve?

How it's measured

The deep induction array's raw measured conductivity (eddy-current response), prior to the skin-effect and calibration corrections that produce CILD and the resistivity ILD.

How it's used

An intermediate and QC channel behind the deep resistivity. When present it lets petrophysicists trace how the delivered ILD/CILD was derived, or re-process from raw.

Common gotchas

It is a raw, uncalibrated channel — not the curve to interpret directly for saturation. Use the calibrated conductivity (CILD) or resistivity (ILD) instead; RILD is for QC and re-processing.

Recorded as RILD in conductivity units, alongside CILD and ILD. Treat it as raw input, not a deliverable.
