What is the MNOR curve?

How it's measured

A wider electrode spacing on the microlog pad reads a few inches into the formation — past most of the mudcake into flushed rock — while riding the wall.

How it's used

With the micro inverse, it identifies permeable beds via positive separation and gives a shallow, qualitative Rxo. Sharp vertical resolution also helps pick bed boundaries.

Common gotchas

Pad contact is essential — washouts and rugosity ruin it. It reads flushed, filtrate-invaded rock, so treat it as a permeability and Rxo indicator, not a saturation curve.
