What is the MINV curve?

How it's measured

A closely-spaced electrode pair on the microlog pad measures very shallow resistivity — dominated by mudcake on permeable beds — while the pad rides the borehole wall.

How it's used

Permeability indication: positive separation between micro normal and micro inverse marks mudcake on porous, permeable zones. Also a qualitative Rxo and bed-boundary aid.

Common gotchas

A pad tool, so rugose hole and poor contact corrupt it. It reads mudcake and filtrate, not the reservoir — use it qualitatively, with the caliper, not for quantitative saturation.
